Brand & Package Design

All hopes to deploy this meticulously planned single acre hemp project literally went up in smoke after the 2020 Obenchain fire blazed through the farm and destroyed the entire crop, equipment, and cure barn (which also played host to product and package storage). Hillside Herbs was a sister project for the Roganja brand – much love was spent sowing, nurturing, harvesting, trimming, curing, and packaging. The plan was to introduce cultivars which included Bubba Kush, Hawaiian Haze, Lifter, and an amazing CBG cross which the team was truly excited about. The brand persona was built to reflect the team behind the plant and pay homage to the artistry, farm, and terroir (which produced some of the finest craft hemp around). This project combined various disciplines from identity design, naming, initial icon systems, illustration, and packaging design. Photographed, is the sole surviving package from our first run – everything else was lost in the fire.
